Hair Type- Describes the hair strand pattern. 
Type 1-Straight

Type 2- Wavy

Type 3- Curly 

Type 4- Kinky Coily 

Rod- Refers to a perm rod, natural hair used to create a temporary curl of your choice. 
Flat Twist- A two strand anchored flat to the scalp. It is to a twist what a cornrow is to a single braid. 
Single Braid- A single braid that is not flat to the scalp.
Cornrow- A braid that is anchored flat to the scalp. 
Curly Cut- A hair cut that does not require straitening, that accentuates the natural curl pattern. i.e. Devacut, Rezo Cut, Mizani Air Cute etc.
Comb Coil- A single twist or coil that created using a small tapered comb. 
Finger Coil- A single twist or coil that created using the fingers.
Edges- Hair that grows along the front of the hairline. Usually very fine, short, and soft. This area curl pattern is usually more relaxed and frail.
Deep Conditioning- The process of using a conditioner intended for deep conditioning to maintain the health or repair the hair. 
Big Chop- The act of cutting of the majority of the hair or the majority of damaged hair.
Protective Style- A style that protects the hair preferable the ends from daily manipulation for an extended period of time. 
Wash n Go- A style that is more than washing and leaving. Using curl product to temporarily enhance the appearance of the natural curls, coils, or kinks.
